Design Review Open Houses for Bown Crossing
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: March 15, 2010
See Designs for Future Library! at Bown Crossing(Boise, Idaho March 15, 2010) Southeast Boise residents interested in reviewing and commenting on designs for the citys future Library! at Bown Crossing will want to attend a Boise Public Library Design Review Open House in March or April. Review and comment opportunities are also offered at the Main Library and at Bookmobile stops, and online at www.boisepubliclibary.org. Four open houses are scheduled:
At open houses, residents can review architectural design boards and discuss plans for the future library with City and Library staff. Architectural renderings of the building exterior, including aerial and street-level views from several angles, will be on display, as well as renderings of interior spaces. A schematic plan with furniture and a diagram of interior space allocations will also be available. The Boise City Council allocated funding for the initial design phase for the Library! at Bown Crossing in 2009, providing citizens with the opportunity to comment on the overall design of the new library. These comments will be incorporated into the design development phase. Completion of the initial design phase will position the City to move forward with the benefit of public input when funding becomes available for design development, construction and operation of the new library. The open house is part of a public design review process outlined by the Library Building Committee in late 2006. The process will include a series of public meetings, meetings with Southeast Boise neighborhood leaders, and opportunities for online review and comment. For more information about the future Library! at Bown Crossing, visit www.boisepubliclibrary.org or call Library Administration at 384-4238, weekdays, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
