  • To pick a color or image right click on the desktop
  • Select Properties

  • Themes - preset colors for windows, icons, titlebars, etc.
  • Desktop - for background image/color on your desktop
  • Screen Saver - choose a screen saver
  • Appearance - change items within a theme

Saving and Finding Your Files

 

  1. Choose "File" then "Save As" to save your document.

  1. Name your document - "valuable document"
  2. Click on folder to save it to - "Important Stuff
  3. Click "Save"

  1. Save your file to the desktop where you can see it.
  2. Right click on the desktop - create a new folder and name it.
  3. From your document click "Save As" and choose this new location.

  1. Use My Computer (in the Start Menu window) to navigate through your files.

Turning Off the Computer

 

  • Use the Start Button in the lower left corner of your screen to being the Shut Down or Turn Off process
  • When you see this screen click on "Turn Off"
