2009 Fall Booksale
Additional books are stocked throughout the day on Friday and Saturday. Sale items include lots of new and gently-used books for kids, pocket and trade paperbacks, computer books and classics, better quality book sets, coffee table books, cookbooks and holiday gift books. How Your Booksale Purchases Benefit the LibraryLast year, the Friends organization raised over $100,000 to benefit the library, all through booksales and the Friends Bookstore in the library. All preparation for and staffing of the sales is provided by volunteers, who typically sort through about 80,000 items to prepare for a sale. In late 2007, the Friends group donated $237,000 to the library to purchase opening-day collections for the new Collister and Hillcrest branch libraries. The Friends of the Boise Public Library is a nonprofit volunteer organization founded to promote the interest and welfare of the library. General Booksale Information
