If you're looking for family activities for the summer, consider the
Cultural Triathlon - you'll get to read, exercise, and explore Boise with
the family, plus learn a little on the way!
The Cultural Triathlon is
open to all ages - children, teens and adults. It's conducted each summer by a group of
libraries, museums and education organizations in the Boise area, all
members of the Cultural Network. This year, the program runs from
May 20 - July 31, so that participants can "count" attendance at the
Circle of Cultures: The Boise Lewis & Clark
Experience.
To "run" the Triathlon, here's what you need to do:
- Join ONE Summer Reading program at a participating library;
- Engage in TWO physical activities, sponsored by
Boise Parks &
Recreation, the Girl Scouts of Silver Sage Council or on your own;
- Visit THREE participating museums or educational
organizations.
As you complete each activity, just get a stamp on your Triathlon
passport. Pick it up at any of the participating libraries, museums,
educational organizations and physical activity sites
listed below, or print it off this site (Adobe Acrobat
Reader required).

Complete all three legs of the Triathlon and turn in your completed
passport by July 31 to be entered in a prize drawing, including the grand
prize -- a whitewater raft trip for four,
donated by Cascade Raft & Kayak. Be sure to ask for a Certificate of Completion when you turn in your completed passport.
Special thanks to our sponsors, Treasure Valley Family Magazine,
International Press and Cascade Raft & Kayak.
