Boise Public Library and Garabatos Spanish Preschool present a celebration of El dia de los niños and El dia de los libros (Children's day and Book Day) with a full slate of family activities focusing on literacy, learning, and cultural diversity. Take a bilingual journey and meet Tomásm, who knows all Papa Grande's stories by heart! He hears them every night on the long trek from Texas to Iowa where the family will spend the summer picking crops. But his young life changes forever when he meets someone very special at the local Carnegie Library. Based on the book by Pat Mora, it's the true story of Tomás Rivera, who began his life as a migrant worker and became a university chancellor.
