This is a series of hands-on classes designed for people new to
computers. It focuses on basic computer functions and terminology, using
the mouse, and getting around in the Windows environment.

Library! at Hillcrest will join hundreds of libraries throughout the
country on November 14, 2009, for the second annual celebration of
National Gaming @ your library. Like so many other libraries across the
country the Library! at Hillcrest will offer special gaming programs and
events suitable for the whole family. We will have some of our most
requested Wii games on hand for participants to try before making their
holiday purchases, as well as board games suitable for gamers of all
ages.

African Drumming and Dance with TrICA

Play (and dance) to your own beat!
Come one, come all, for a lively program offered by the Treasure
Valley Institute for Children’s Arts and Boise Public Library. Families
are invited to join Ben and Rachel Pursely at the Library! at Hillcrest for
a high energy, interactive program of creative music and drumming.
TrICA (Treasure Valley Institute for Children's Arts) is an arts
learning center for children, offering classes and programs that use
movement to help kids explore history, cultural relations, self-esteem,
theater, music and other topics. The program is presented as part of the
library’s new weekly program series, Saturday Specials for Families.

Family Treasure Hunt - An Idaho Family
Reading Week Event
Thursday, November 19, 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Idaho is Wild about Reading!
Families are invited to discover the endless treasures that can be
found at your local library. The evening will include a treasure hunt
for families, yummy snacks, stories, and prizes. No registration is
necessary. Come, have fun, and find out more about the many treasures
Boise Public Library has to offer.
Each year, schools, libraries, and community organizations across the
state plan activities to celebrate Idaho Family Reading Week. During
Idaho Family Reading Week, activities such as the Library! at
Hillcrest's Family Treasure Hunt help encourage parents to read aloud to
their children every day and to visit their local public library for
information and materials to help with reading.
New Americans, English language learners, and volunteers are invited to
join a moderated conversation hour every Saturday called English Corner.

English Corner meets every Saturday at 3:30 p.m. in the Camas Room and
lasts approximately one-hour. No registration needed.

Senior Share
Boise Public Library offers programming on senior topics at Senior
Share. Programs are on hiatus in July and August.
When Senior Share resumes in September, programs will alternate between
the Library! at Hillcrest (second Tuesday of the month) and the Library!
at Cole & Ustick (fourth Tuesday of the month).
Teen Advisory meetings, gaming and
special activities. Come enjoy everything the library has to offer and
help shape it into somewhere special to you. Free snacks! Ages 12-17.
