Catch the
Reading Bug!
How does Summer Reading Work?
Pick up a Catch the Reading Bug Summer Reading Entry Sheet in
Youth Services, Library! at Collister, Library! at Hillcrest or at the Bookmobile or
click here to print a copy. Beginning June 1, keep track of the time
you spend reading books, including being read to or listening to audio
books. Complete and return your Summer Reading Entry Sheet to the
location at which you registered by July 31 to earn prizes and to be
entered in prize drawings.
Prizes must be picked up before August 15, 2008. Entries received after
July 31 will not be eligible for prize drawings, including the grand
prize. Winners will be notified by August 8, 2008.
Registration
Registration
begins June 1 and continues through July 31 at any Boise
Public Library site (Main Library, Library! at Collister, Library! at
Hillcrest or the
Bookmobile). Participants may register at only one library site and must
pick up all earned prizes at that location. Participants in Boise Public Library’s Summer Reading Program must be
Boise residents with a public library card. Nonresidents may visit
www.idahokidsread.org to find
a library summer reading program in their area.
Prizes
Children are encouraged to read 20 minutes each day to earn prizes. Each
level is equivalent to reading 20 minutes for 10 days, or a total of 3
hours and 20 minutes. The levels must be completed in order.
Level 3 = Free Book, Discovery Center of Idaho ticket, + Food coupon
Bonus level(s) = Additional entries in prize drawings
(see below)
Each level completed also qualifies a child to enter a drawing for one
of several $30 gift certificates and a grand prize. Time read
beyond the 3 levels can be entered in prize drawings as a bonus level.
The more time spent reading, the greater the chance to win!
Prizes are
subject to availability; substitutions may be necessary. Sponsor's rules
and limits apply.
