Read Beyond Reality @ your library during
Teen Read Week! Read something just for the fun
of it, then check out one of these out-of-the-world Teen Read Week
programs:
Main Library:
Read “beyond” what was written in the book -
The Mysteries of Harris Burdick, by
Chris Van Allsburg. We’ll make up our own continuation of the
stories and pictures and share other books that challenge your
imagination. Bring a friend and join us for good food, conversation,
and imagination. Ages 12-19.
- Tuesday, October 20,
7 p.m., Hayes Auditorium
Library! at Cole & Ustick:
Science Fiction, Fantasy & Candy Sushi. We'll start with a
discussion of Beyond-Reality science fiction and fantasy books, then
move on to sushi. Not a fan of real sushi? Try your hand
at making candy sushi. We'll provide the ingredients for your sweet
culinary creations.
- Thursday, October 22, 5 p.m.
Library! at Collister:
Come join us for a ghastly
good time as we exchange urban legends over spooky sweets. Allow your imagination to
stretch as you hear tales that are too eerie to be real—or are they?
- Thursday, October 22, 7:30 p.m.
Library! at Hillcrest: Teens
Can Change the World! What do you care about? Make a difference,
volunteer, write a letter, start a movement. Join us as we explore
how teens can change the world.
- Tuesday, October 20, 4 p.m.
