English Language Learning Storytime for Preschoolers and Their Families - Library! at Hillcrest
English Language Learning Storytime - Library! at Hillcrest

The Boise Public Library presents a storytime program for preschool English language learners and their families.

Reading Together: A Storytime for New Americans and English Language Learners

Designed to help meet the needs of Boise’s growing population of families who speak English as a second language, the storytimes specifically target preschool-age children and their parents or caregivers. Participating families will have opportunities to improve their English language skills through learning activities and by speaking English with each other.

Each individual storytime will run for approximately 30 minutes and will focus on concepts in simple English. Activities will include reading picture books, counting, learning new words, singing and dancing to music, and learning with toys.

The new program has been made possible through a “Wal-Mart Strengthening Library Services for Youth” mini-grant from the Idaho Commission for Libraries and the Wal-Mart Foundation.

This program is offered at alternating sites, for more information on the next series of ELL storytimes, contact the Library! at hillcrest at 562-4996.
