Fit and Fall Proof - Library! at Collister and Library! at Cole & Ustick

Improve your strength and balance and avoid falls with this twice-weekly fitness class for seniors of all abilities. The program focuses on functional fitness—improving your ability to do everyday tasks.

The next session starts Tuesday, October 6, and runs through Thursday, December 17.  Starting in October, Fit and Fall Proof classes will be offered at TWO Boise Public Library locations - the Library! at Collister and the Library! at Cole & Ustick.  Classes at both locations are scheduled on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:15 a.m.

  • Collister classes start Tuesday, Oct. 6, and run through Thursday, Dec. 17.
  • Cole & Ustick classes start Tuesday, Oct. 27, and also run through Thursday, Dec. 17.

Muscle strength and flexibility play a primary role in balance and maintaining physical activity. Strengthening your muscles will make it easier to do the things you want to do—lift a grandchild for a hug, get out of a chair with ease, or climb stairs without puffing.

Brought to you by the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare Physical Activity and Nutrition Program (PAN) in conjunction with Central District Health Department.

“No one is too old to enjoy the benefits of regular physical activity.... [M]uscle strengthening exercises can reduce the risk of falling and fracturing bones and can improve the ability to live independently.” ~Physical Activity and Health: A Report of the Surgeon General, 1996
