Library Solicits Comments on Branch Proposal
(Boise, Idaho – November 2, 2006) Boise Public Library has scheduled two public meetings to receive comments on a new proposal for branch libraries. More meetings are in the works. The first two meetings will be held Wednesday, November 8, at New Heights Christian Fellowship on W. Ustick Road, and Thursday, November 9, at Timberline High School in East Boise. Both meetings are scheduled from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Members of the Boise Public Library Board of Trustees will be attending these meetings, but no official action will be taken. In late October, the Boise City Council approved taking a branch library proposal to the public for comment. The proposed plan would place four branches in the Northwest, Central Bench, West and East areas of Boise. The proposal includes a combination of leased and built facilities, phased-in over a four-year period. Because of the phased-in timing and reduced size versus previous plans, the proposed branches would be fundable within the City’s current six-year budget projections. Besides soliciting comments through public meetings, the library has provided a branch library proposal comment form and survey on its website, at www.boisepubliclibrary.org. Branch library comment forms and proposal information are also available at Boise Public Library facilities. For more information, call Library Administration at 384-4238 weekdays, from 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. ### Contact: Joanne Hinkel Last Updated: 11/02/2006 |
