FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – See Designs for Future Library at Cole & Ustick
(Boise, Idaho – November 29, 2007) Residents will get another opportunity to discuss designs for the City’s future West Boise library at Cole and Ustick. Boise Public Library has scheduled its second West Boise Library Design Review Open House for Monday, December 10, from 4:30 – 8:30 p.m. in the Capital High School cafeteria at 8055 Goddard Road. West Boise residents are particularly encouraged to attend. Attendees will have an opportunity to review design boards and discuss plans for the library with Boise Public Library and City staff. They can expect to see architectural renderings of designs for the building exterior, including aerial and street-level views from several angles. A summary of sustainable features will also be available, such as features for efficient use of energy and water and the use of recycled and local materials. The West Boise library project is in the design development phase, with preliminary designs being fleshed out in more detail. Zoning permitting is underway. The City expects to break ground in mid-2008, and to open the library in late 2009. The library’s service area will encompass four neighborhood associations – West Cloverdale, West Valley, West Bench and Winstead Park. The open house is part of a public design review process outlined by the Library Building Committee. The process includes a series of public meetings, a liaison group of West Boise neighborhood leaders, and opportunities for online review and comment. To review the designs or to comment online, please visit www.boisepubliclibrary.org. For more information, call Library Administration at 384-4238 weekdays. ###
