FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE –
See Designs for Future West Boise Library
(Boise, Idaho – August 30, 2007) Residents interested in designs for the city’s future West Boise library at Cole and Ustick will want to attend Boise Public Library’s Design Review Open House on Wednesday, September 12. It’s scheduled from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at New Heights Christian Fellowship, 9950 West Ustick Road. West Boise residents are particularly encouraged to attend.
At the event, you’ll have the opportunity to review design boards and discuss plans for the library with project architects from Fletcher Farr Ayotte, Inc. and with Library and City staff. Attendees can expect to see architectural renderings of design concepts for the building exterior, including aerial and street-level views from several angles. A summary of sustainable features will also be available, such as features for efficient use of energy and water and the use of recycled and local materials.
The City expects to break ground on the West Boise neighborhood library in late spring next year. It’s scheduled to open in late 2009. The library’s service area encompasses four neighborhood associations – West Cloverdale, West Valley, West Bench and Winstead Park.
The open house is part of a public design review process outlined by the Library Building Committee. The process will include a series of public meetings, a liaison group of West Boise neighborhood leaders, and opportunities for online review and comment. Online review will begin soon after the September 12 meeting.
