Borrow books for your classroom...
Boise Public Library is pleased to offer sets of books for teachers' use in the classroom. Sets include 10 - 30 copies and check out for four weeks. They must be picked up at our Main Library. You will need a library card from Boise Public Library, Ada Community Library or a public library in Caldwell, Eagle, Garden City, Meridian or Nampa. For set availability, please contact the Youth Service’s staff at 972-8201 or use our email form.
Or for your entire book club!
Our Books for Book Club collection includes hundreds of titles, primarily fiction, that check out as sets. Each set contains 12 copies and can be checked out for six weeks. Sets must be checked out and returned as sets.
You can also browse the library catalog to find Books for Book Clubs sets, search for specific titles, check availability, and reserve sets. Once you find a set you’d like to check out, just click “place hold” and choose your pick-up location.
Below are some tips to get you started. If you need help or have questions, you’re always welcome to stop by the second-floor desk at the Main Library, send us an email, or call 972-8255.
How do I find a specific book club set (say, Catcher in the Rye)?
- Search by title for "catcher in the rye book club" (quotation marks not necessary). If we have that title as a set, the set will be one of your first results: The catcher in the rye : Book club set.
- Search by title for "catcher in the rye". You'll have more hits, but the book club set should appear in the first page of results.
How do I find book club sets by a specific author?
- Search by all fields for "salinger book club set". A truncated version ("salinger book club" or even "salinger book") should get you there just as efficiently in most cases.
How do I browse all the book club sets?
- Search by title for "book club set". You can sort your results alphabetically by title or author. Note: Do not use the plural ("book club sets") - you won't get the same results.
