Our Summer Fest Reading Program and Library Comic Con Drawing Contest run for another month, through July 31. Both are open to kids, teens and adults. Just track your reading or draw a favorite character for a chance to win some great prizes for doing something that's fun!

Literacy in the Park
We're partnering with the Idaho Food Bank and the Idaho Commission for Libraries to offer storytimes and related activities in the parks during the summer, for kids ages 2-10. Books will be available for check-out, and free lunch will be provided by the Idaho Food Bank. Schedule

July 15 – Composting Workshop: Experts from the Jim Hall Foothills Learning Center will take you through the easy way to compost in your own backyard. Library! at Cole & Ustick
July 16 – Old-Time Music Show with Rick Meyers: Kids, see how pioneers used saws, spoons, washboards and other household items to make music! Main Library
July 31 – School-Aged Fun: It's Electrifying! Join the Treasure Valley Children’s Theater for a shocking good time! Main Library
July 17 – Makers: Costume Prop Making: Get ready for Library Comic Con! Learn how to make your own props or cosplay items at our July Makers program. Main Library
July 19 & 26 – Panucation's Plunge into Code: Kids in grades K-8 are invited to “Plunge Into Code” in this free series using introductory computer science material from Code.org. Main Library
July 21-25 – Teen Writing Camp: Aspiring teen writers will find writing tips, techniques, and inspiration at these 2-hour daily sessions. Main Library
July 26 – Making Your Own Bookplate: Learn how to make one-of-a-kind bookplates to identify your books. Adults. Library! at Collister
July 29 – Getting Published in Literary Journals: Join creative writing professor Mitch Wieland for a look at the ins and outs of getting published in literary journals in Why Literary Journals are a Writer’s Best Friend. Main Library
