Established as a non-partisan voter education program, Project Vote Smart provides the Voter’s Self-Defense System, a set of informational tools to assist voters in making informed, responsible decisions at the voting booth.

The tools consist of the Project Vote Smart database and the Voter’s Self Defense Manual.

These resources provide an independent source of accurate information on candidates, their positions and voting records and also includes biographical information on the candidates, issue positions, interest group ratings of candidates, public statements, and links to voter registration information, ballot measures, and more.
