Loans, Limits & Overdue Items
The chart below shows loan limits, fines and so on for various item types.
Please note:
- Items from other libraries - even if checked out through Boise Public Library - may have different limits, check-out periods, grace periods and so on. Be sure to check your account or receipt for actual due dates.
- Items that have been reserved by other customers cannot be renewed.
- Interlibrary loan fees and due dates are set by the lending library.
- See below for information about blocked accounts and paying overdue fees.

Blocked Accounts, Overdue Fee Payments
If your account is blocked or your items are overdue, please visit or call one of our locations during regular business hours for assistance. Customer accounts are blocked from renewing items if there are fines of $10.00 or more on the account, if the library card has been reported lost or stolen or is expired, or if there is information in the account that requires updating.
If you have an overdue fee to pay, bring in the item and your library card. You will be asked to pay the fee at that time. You may pay by cash, check, money order or debit or credit card. If the item has already been returned, you may pay by mailing a check, calling in your credit card, paying online or coming in to any of the libraries in the LYNX! Consortium.
