Volunteering
Thank your for your interest in volunteering for Boise Public Library. Please note, in order for an application to be considered, potential volunteers:
- Must be over 14 years of age.
- Must be willing to have a background check and be fingerprinted—actual requirements will depend on the specific volunteer position.
- Must be willing to volunteer a minimum of 2-3 hours per week, unless already cleared with the Volunteer coordinator at the division/branch where you wish to volunteer.

Library! at Collister - Technology Coach
Volunteer Duties Description: The Library! at Collister is looking for tech-savvy volunteers to assist us with a technology mentoring program. Volunteers will be paired with library customers who need help with basic computer skills.
If you're proficient in Microsoft Office products, comfortable navigating email and the Internet, and willing to donate a minimum of one hour per week, please let us know!

Library! at Hillcrest - English Corner
Volunteer Duties Description: The ideal English Corner (EC) volunteer is a traveler, enjoys other cultures, seeks
out diversity and can accommodate working on Saturday afternoons. EC volunteers work for an hour and one half
every other Saturday from 3:30 until 5:00. Volunteers engage in conversation with people from other countries who
want to practice speaking English. Volunteers prepare themselves with a couple of topics so that they can have a light conversation, but are also prepared to follow the language learner’s lead, should s/he have a topic in mind.
EC volunteers may also tutor, assisting language learners with applications, forms completion, citizenship studies, digital literacy and more. Tutoring is by appointment and scheduled to be mutually convenient to both the tutor and the language learner.
Hours Needed: Saturdays from 3:30-5:00 and variously by appointment. Apply now.
Be a Friends Volunteer
Members of the Friends and other volunteers staff the Friends bookstore at the Main Library, process books for sales, staff the annual spring and fall book sales, and help with other activities as needed.
