Teen and Adult Guidelines

  1. Registration will be held at BCAF and will be first-come, first-serve the weekend of BCAF. Contestants must register for their contest by one hour before the contest begins. All contestants must be present when the contest begins.
  2. Costumes will be judged on detail and effort (how much time and work went into your costume) as well as presentation (how well you present your character to the judges and audience.) Additional weight will be given to costumes that are handmade rather than purchased.
  3. Each contestant may enter as an individual or as a group. If your cosplay group spans multiple ages, choose the age group that the majority of your group fits into.
  4. Each contestant or group is only allowed one walk-on or one skit (3 minutes or under).
  5. Prizes for both teens and adults will be awarded in the following categories:
    1. Best Costume
    2. Best Performance
    3. Best First Time Cosplayer
  6. All cosplayers must abide by the Library’s Rules of Conduct (https://bit.ly/2IE6Fhh).
  7. Please leave your fire, confetti, slime, water, spells, or other potentially messy props at home.
  8. Your costume must be completely assembled before you go on stage, and all portions of your costume must leave the stage with you.
