What is BCAF19?
Boise Comic Arts Festival is a two-day comics celebration that includes presentations, performances, panel discussions, cosplay contests (adults & kids), an exhibition area featuring gaming & vendors, and an Artists’ Alley with local & international comic authors & artists.

When is BCAF taking place?
August 24th & 25th, from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Where will BCAF be taking place?
This year BCAF will primarily be taking place at JUMP (Jack’s Urban Meeting Place), 1000 W Myrtle St, Boise, ID 83702. Additional venues for after-hours festivities TBA.

What happened to Library Comic Con?
It still exists, it’s just called Boise Comic Arts Festival now.

How much does it cost to attend?
Like all Boise Public Library events, BCAF is FREE to attend!

Will there be Guest Creators this year?
Yes! Guest announcements have begun, with more forthcoming. The library’s Facebook page and the event website are the best places to keep up on announced creators.

Who made the amazing poster for BCAF?
We commissioned Portland, OR based comic artist Maria Frantz to create the poster. Her recent book is The Chancellor and the Citadel.

Is the poster available for purchase?
The Friends of the Library will be selling copies of the poster at the event in August. They may also make some available in the Tree City bookstore at Main the week after the event.

Will there be a cosplay contest this year?
Yes! Several, in fact. Details can be found here

I’m interested in volunteering for BCAF this year, who should I talk to?
Anyone interested in volunteering at BCAF should contact Huda Shaltry hshaltry@cityofboise.org

I would like to be a BCAF19 sponsor. Is that possible?
It is, and thanks for asking! Please contact Josh at jshapel@cityofboise.org with sponsorship questions.

When will creators/vendors/exhibitors be able to sign up for a space?
Registration for table space is now closed. There’s currently a waiting list, and interested parties are welcome to contact Josh to have their name added to the list.

There’s been an Art Contest in past years, will that be happening again?
Yes! More details about the Comic Creation Contest are on the BCAF website. Submissions will be accepted from June 1 thru July 31. They can be turned in at any Boise Public Library location service desk. Winners will be announced in August.
