Computer Appointments

Starting Monday, May 18, limited computer access is now available by appointment only at the Main Library, Monday - Friday from 10AM - 2PM. Library staff will wear masks and gloves and practice social distancing. Equipment will be cleaned between each 45 minute session. Hours and locations may be expanded in future weeks.

When will customers be able to access library computers? 
Computers will be accessible by appointment only, Monday thru Friday, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. 

Which Boise Public Library locations will have computers available? 
During Phase 2 computers will only be available at the Main Library (715 S. Capitol Blvd.) 

How do customers make an appointment to use the computers? 
There are two ways to make an appointment. Customers can go to to make an appointment or call 208-972-8200 and speak to a library staff member. 

Can customers use the computers as they would normally, or is use restricted in any way? 
We prefer computer access at this time to be used for priority needs, such as: job search, filing for unemployment benefits, maintaining email contact with friends and family, business needs, etc. 

How long will each computer session last? 
Each session will be 45 minutes long. 

What precautions are library staff taking to protect against COVID-19? 
Library staff will wear PPE at all times and will clean each computer station between each session. 

If a customer doesn’t have an appointment, will they be able to access the computers at the library? 
No. Access to the building will be granted only to those who have an appointment. 

How many appointments can a customer make per week? 
We’re asking that customers only make one computer appointment per week, for the time being, until we can better assess the level of demand. 

Will customers be required to wear PPE? 
Yes. PPE (masks and gloves) must be worn at all times by both staff and customers. 

Will PPE be provided? 
Yes, for those who don’t have their own protective equipment, a mask and gloves will be provided free of charge. 

Will customers need to have a library card in order to access the computers? 
No, library staff will log customers onto the computers. 

Will printing be available? 
Yes, printing will be available free of charge.
