Boise Public Library invites you to make reading a fun daily habit by participating in the
Summer Reading Program!

All ages can participate and the program runs May 22 - July 31.

Levels and Prizes

Kids

  • Sign up via Beanstack or at your Boise Public Library - Get a book!
  • Read for 30 days - Pick a prize AND a book!
  • Read for 60 days - Choose a book!

Adults

  • Sign up via Beanstack or at your Boise Public Library - Get a book!
  • Read for 30 days - Pick a prize OR a book
  • Read for 60 days - Choose a book!

Community Prize

Help us earn community prizes by doing fun activities this summer! Download or pick up an Activity Tracker at any Boise Public Library location or participate using Beanstack. If we reach our goal of 9,000 activities, Boise Parks and Recreation will plant a tree in five parks near our Library branches!

Frequently Asked Questions

No! Anyone can participate in Boise Public Library's Summer Reading Program. We do, however, ask that you only participate in one program.

In an effort to track how successful our school outreach efforts are, we are beginning to track what school participants attend.

Anything! There is no set amount to read—a chapter, a whole book, or reading to someone else—it all counts! We just want reading to become a fun, daily habit!

No. You are welcome to track your reading using a paper tracker. However, when you come to claim your prizes, Boise Public Library staff will create a profile for you in Beanstack in order to maintain accurate statistics.

Absolutely! Summer Reading is for all ages, babies to adults.

Of course! E-Books, audiobooks, e-audio books, comic books, books without words, books without pictures, short books, long books...all books count in Summer Reading.

No problem! The last day to pick up prizes is Tuesday, August 12.
